Wreck-It Ralph is the 9-foot-tall, 643-pound villain of an arcade video game named Fix-It Felix Jr., in which the game's titular hero fixes buildings that Ralph destroys. Wanting to prove he can be a good guy and not just a villain, Ralph escapes his game and lands in Hero's Duty, a first-person shooter where he helps the game's hero battle against alien invaders. He later enters Sugar Rush, a kart racing game set on tracks made of candies, cookies and other sweets. There, Ralph meets Vanellope von Schweetz who has learned that her game is faced with a dire threat that could affect the entire arcade, and one that Ralph may have inadvertently started.

Frequently asked about Wreck-It Ralph
Common questions people search for, with answers written by us at MoviesPack.
Why does Ralph leave his own game to enter Hero's Duty and Sugar Rush?
Ralph is tired of being treated as the villain and outcast of Fix-It Felix Jr. after 30 years — he is never allowed into the penthouse celebration and sleeps alone in the dump. When he learns that winning a medal could earn him respect and acceptance, he sneaks into the first-person shooter Hero's Duty to claim one, setting off the chain of events that lands him in Sugar Rush.
What is King Candy's true identity, and why did he lock Vanellope out of the game?
King Candy is actually Turbo, the mascot of a racing game called TurboTime who became jealous when a newer game stole players' attention and hijacked it — causing both games to be unplugged. He later invaded Sugar Rush, rewrote its code to erase Vanellope from the roster, and locked her out as a glitch to prevent players from selecting her, which would have forced the game to reset and expose him. Keeping Vanellope out also ensured she could never access the finish line and restore her true identity as the game's princess.
Why would the Sugar Rush arcade cabinet have been taken out of service if Vanellope had raced?
Because Vanellope's code was corrupted by King Candy's tampering, her glitching was flagged as a bug. Game technicians watching the cabinet would have interpreted the on-screen glitching as a hardware or software malfunction and pulled the plug on the machine, leaving its characters homeless — a fate treated as permanent death for video-game characters in the film's world.
How does Ralph destroy the Mentos-and-Diet-Cola mountain to stop the Cy-Bug invasion, and why does it work?
Ralph, channeling his wrecking power, smashes the top of Diet Cola Mountain to send the Mentos stalagmites plunging into the giant cola lake below, triggering a massive eruption of light and heat. Cy-Bugs, being mindless code that cannot resist moving toward a beacon, are drawn irresistibly into the eruption and destroyed — the same instinct that doomed King Candy/Turbo when he merged with a Cy-Bug and could not override his programming to fly into the light.
What happens to Vanellope at the end, and why can she still glitch even after the game resets?
When the Sugar Rush game resets after Ralph breaks the code barrier at the finish line, Vanellope is restored as Princess Vanellope von Schweetz, the game's rightful ruler. She chooses to remain president rather than princess and retains her glitching ability, which is reframed in-universe as a special power — a feature rather than a bug — allowing her to teleport short distances, giving her a competitive edge in races.
