This Privacy Policy explains what information MoviesPack (“we”, “our”) collects when you visit this site, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, get in touch.
What we collect
Automatically
- Usage analytics via Google Analytics 4. This includes pages you visit, approximate location (country / city), device type, browser, referring site, and time spent. It does not include your name, email, or any direct identifier.
- Server logs. Our server records IP addresses, user agents, and timestamps as part of normal operation. These logs are rotated and not kept long-term.
- Cookies and local storage. Small identifiers used by Google Analytics to recognize repeat visits, and a country preference cookie if you use the streaming availability tool.
You give us
- Nothing, unless you use an interactive tool (poll votes, “like” reactions, or filter preferences). These are stored against an anonymous session, not tied to you personally.
- If you send us a message via the contact page, we'll have your email and whatever you write. We only use this to reply.
What we use it for
- Making the site work (serving pages, remembering your country preference)
- Understanding which tools and articles are useful, so we can improve the site
- Detecting abuse (bots, scraping, excessive requests)
- Responding to you if you contact us
We do not sell your data. We do not build a user profile. We do not spam.
Third parties
Services that see some of your data when you load this site:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate pageview analytics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense (when enabled) — contextual ads. Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ad Settings.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — film and TV metadata + poster CDN.
- JustWatch — streaming availability data and provider icons.
- Vercel Analytics (if enabled) — page performance metrics.
Your rights and choices
- Opt out of analytics: use your browser's “Do Not Track” setting or install the Google Analytics opt-out extension.
- Clear cookies: your browser settings let you delete existing cookies and block new ones. Some site features (country memory, poll votes) may stop working.
- Data access / deletion: since we don't store personal data against an identifier, there's usually nothing to export or delete. For poll votes or reactions tied to a session cookie, clear your cookies and those records become orphaned.
Children
MoviesPack is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes will be called out on the homepage or via a banner.
