Frequently asked about Deathstalker
Common questions people search for, with answers written by us at MoviesPack.
Why does the amulet keep bonding itself to Deathstalker?
The amulet latches onto Deathstalker because it carries an ancient prophecy about the one destined to wield the magical sword capable of defeating Necromemnon. Its bond acts as a form of selection, effectively marking him as the prophesied warrior. Doodad is only able to break the bond temporarily through a wizard's intervention at night, at which point he reads the prophecy aloud to the group.
How did Jotak survive and end up serving Necromemnon?
Deathstalker had believed Jotak died years earlier, having killed or abandoned him to prevent his corruption by dark magic. When Necromemnon was resurrected, Jotak was possessed by an evil spirit and became commander of the Dreadites. His survival reframes Deathstalker's past guilt: the sacrifice he believed he had made was undone by the necromancer's return.
What is Necromemnon's goal and why does he want the amulet?
Necromemnon is an ancient necromancer who has returned from death and seeks the amulet because it is directly tied to the prophecy of his defeat — specifically, it leads to the magical sword that can kill him. By seizing the amulet he aims to suppress the prophesied threat before it can be fulfilled. His pursuit of Deathstalker throughout the film is therefore preemptive: he is trying to prevent the very sequence of events the amulet's prophecy sets in motion.
What happens to Brisbayne and what is the demon Citor?
Brisbayne, despite having betrayed Deathstalker to the thief queen Grendul earlier in the film, is transformed by Necromemnon into a vessel for the demon Citor during the climax. Citor appears to be a powerful demonic entity Necromemnon can channel through a human host as a last resort. Deathstalker uses the prophesied sword specifically to destroy Citor, which simultaneously reverses Brisbayne's possession and resurrects her.
Why does Deathstalker choose to destroy the prophesied sword at the end?
After using the sword to defeat Citor and save Brisbayne, Deathstalker decides the weapon must be unmade rather than kept, reasoning that no person should wield something so powerful. This reflects the film's through-line about the danger of power and dark magic corrupting those who hold it — the same concern that drove his earlier confrontation with Jotak. The final comedic beat, where Doodad badly fumbles the actual act of destruction, leaves ambiguous whether the sword is truly gone.
